PARENTS and FRIENDS ASSOCIATION
The Parents and Friends Association Meets at the
College on one TUESDAY EVENING per month at 7.30 p.m. and the Annual
General Meeting is held in November of each year (7.30 pm).
All parents are warmly invited to join the College Parents and Friends
Association which provides important social contact between parents and the
school community and works with the College Staff towards the provision of
better facilities for students of the College.
In past years, the Parents and Friends have purchased computers, books,
educational aides, etc. and established the Learning Centre, all of which have
been of invaluable assistance to students.
The Association conducts a variety of functions throughout the school year.
Whilst some of these are fund-raising initiatives, (the Walk-a-thon,
International Fair, for example) the Parents and Friends are very conscious of
the need for parents to meet informally with College Staff and enjoy a pleasant
social experience.
Much of the thrust of the Association is at a Year level and teachers look
forward to working with a group of parents in a variety of activities. Much
good work has been achieved during recent years due the support and interest of
parents. Some of these areas include the Reading Programmes, Drama Productions
and general assistance, e.g. in the Book Room.
It is most important for parents of new students to the College to become part
of the Parents and Friends Association. You will have the opportunity to assist
in the work on behalf of your sons and all our students, and also become more
aware of what is happening in the school community, so you can voice your
opinions and make your concerns or suggestions known.
The
views of ALL PARENTS of the College are actively sought and valued.
